As we look back on the summer we were very fortunate to have so many loyal and dedicated staff members. They were the main reason why 2012 was such a successful summer. Thanks to all of our summer staff for all of their efforts in helping to make things run so smoothly. We wish them the best of luck as they return to school.
As the session is half-way done, the beautiful weather continues up at camp. Yesterday night was Toy Story themed, with all of the staff dressing up as the classic movie characters. For major program, the campers played a game of clue and were trying to discover who broke the Mr. Potato Head toy. Today, we will be having a barbeque cookout for lunch and then there will be a carnival-themed evening. Stay posted for more updates!
With the first full day or activities underway, campers are enjoying the beautiful weather up at camp. Yesterday evening we played a camp-wide game of capture the flag followed by a campfire. Each cabin had to put together a theme song for their cabin to perform. We look forward to see what the rest of the week holds for the excited campers!
This afternoon, we had guest artist Rob Hinchley run an acryllic painting workshop in the woods. He taught the campers some basic skills and techniques and then they drew the beautiful forest landscape. A huge thanks to Rob for offering his expertise and running the workshop. Now many campers have a special piece of art to take home with them!
With the second day of activities underway, campers are enjoying their time at camp. This afternoon, our music director Taylor is teaching beginner and intermediate guitar lessons to campers of all skill levels. We also look forward to more exciting arts and crafts inspired choice activites later this week. This evening, we will be having have a zoo-themed program, with councillors dressing up as a wide range of animals.
Fourth session is now in full swing with the first day of activities beginning today. Yesterday evening, the camp celebrated the Olympics Closing Cermonies with a game of capture the flag followed by a Campfire. Campers and staff are eager to see what the rest of the session holds as there is a lot of excitement in the air. Stay posted!
Today, we welcomed all of the new and excited campers for fourth session! After cabin introductions and camp tours, we played camp-wide orientation games, including "British Bulldog." Now, campers are cooling down in the lake after a busy afternoon. This evening, we look forward to playing capture the flag and having a campfire. Stay posted for more updates!
Arrowhead Theatre's production of School of Rock was a huge success! With amazing acting and jaw-dropping musical talent, the cast rocked the stage. A special thanks to our cast for all the their hard work and crew for working their magic backstage. The show could not have been possible without all of your positivity and determination!
Congratulations to team Franklin for winning the annual Campbell Cup for the second year in a row! The team placed first out of 9 teams in an intense running, canoeing and swimming relay race. Kudos to all campers for competing in one leg of the race!
