First Session Memories 2012

• Campers work to beat Arrowhead Camp records
• Shoutout to Min Young S. for holding the new record for limbo and Grant M. for doing 2012 jumping jacks!
• Camp traveled back to 1972, for a throwback Airbands in celebration of Arrowhead’s 40^th anniversary
• Congratulations to team Thor for outshining the other Avengers and rescuing the Hulk from evil Loki
• Arrowhead Idol lays out the red carpet welcoming celebrity guest judges Adele, Bon Iver, Carly Rae Jepsen and Ozzie Ozbourne
• Cameron is named Arrowhead Idol winner for 2012 with his awesome dancing
• Way to go the Bay on winning cabin clean up 2 weeks in a row
• Straight sunshine for the entire session!
• Welcome to our July LIT group who started their summer adventure with an overnight hike in Algonquin Park

2^nd Session Memories

 

• 1^st annual Arrowhead Games takes place with a basketball tournament, fishing durby, synchronized swimming competition and the big triathalon!
• Arrowhead hosts the 2012 London Olympics with a battle of the unaccepted sports
• Team Baseball makes the final cut, being the last sport to be part of the 2012 Olympic Games
• 6 canoe trips head out to Algonquin Park, including the LITs on their 2 night adventure
• Arrowhead hosts its 40^th Birthday dinner with entertainment guests including a musician, clown and juggler
• Arrowhead theatre presents Peter Pan the play, congratulations to all the actors as well as the stage and lighting crew
• Thomas T., Jordi B., Jason M. and Eamonn C. take home the gold in each of the triathalon races
• The July LITs complete the 4 week program! Awesome job!
• Congratulations to the Birkendale Bears for winning the 2012 Arrowhead Games
• Two prestigious gold awards were given out at this sessions banquet. Alex F. won the Golden Wheel for his great work on mountain biking, and Ines L. won the Golden Paddle for her determination on canoeing.

• Campers show off their amazing talents in Arrowhead’s got Talent
• Arrowhead welcomes celebrities for the Much Music Video Awards. A huge thanks to Beyonce, Jay Z, David and Victoria Beckham for hosting such a fabulous evening
• Arrowhead hosts the 2012 Academy Awards battle for best picture. Congratulations Snow White for taking home the Oscar
• Happy 40^th Birthday Arrowhead! Thanks to all the former staff for making an appearance at our birthday party
• One canoe trip heads into Algonquin Park for a 1 night canoe trip
• The annual Campbell Cup takes place this session, congratulations to team Franklin for winning for the 2^nd year in a row!
• Arrowhead Theatre presents School Of Rock! Way to go to all the cast and crew for an amazing performance, you rock!
• Welcome to our new group of August LITs who started their 4 week program off with a one night hike in Algonquin Park

2011 Camp Memories

First Session Memories 2011

• Campers tried to break as many Arrowhead Camp records as possible.
• Allan Brimbecom holds the new record for the mud pit sit!
• Pirates invaded Camp for all-day program and Elizabeth Swan is the new captain of the Black Pearl.
• Our first two night canoe trip went out into Algonquin Park.
• LIT’s visited Kinark Outdoor Centre for a great teambuilding experience.
• Autobots defeated the Decepticons during Transformers Day.
• Eclipse and Sierra win cabin clean-up!
• Lauren Chisholm and Jessica MacKay win the pairs race in the regatta and Holden Koivu wins the singles
• race.
• Katie Grabauskas  is the winner of Arrowhead Idol 2011! Thanks to all of the cast and crew for a great show!
• Happy Birthday to Michael Sucharda, Alec MacPherson, Nicole Yoannou, Kendall Koivu and Adrian Widner

Second Session Memories 2011

• Hogwarts came to Camp and Malfoy defeated ‘he who shall not be named’.
• The 80’s make a comeback with a special performance by Madonna!
• The Walmartin family ring went missing but a special thanks to Team Scooby Doo for finding it!
• A record number of 4 canoe trips went into Algonquin Park with 3 of them being 2 night trips. Way to go guys!
• LIT’s tackled a two night canoe trip through record breaking heat.
• An alien invasion occurred! Luckily our campers were able to contain the breakout.
• Eclipse and Sierra win cabin clean-up!
• Oasis wins the Amazing Race in a nail-biting, fire building finish.
• Congratulations to the July LIT’s for doing a great job this month and completing the program!
• Happy Birthday to Devan Vasile, Bethany Holeschek, Priya Khanmaini, Pepe Coronas, Jordan White and Gonzalo Amezola!

 

Third Session Memories 2011

 

• Swamp wins Monopoly, the Arrowhead Camp version by building cabins on their properties!
• Much Music visits Camp and hosts the video awards.
• Woody and Buzz Lightyear win the Cartoon Wars!
• Arrowhead welcomed a new group of LIT’s who in their first two weeks tackled not only a hike but a 3-night Algonquin canoe trip. Awesome job guys!
• Our 6^th annual Campbell Cup took place with Team Franklin taking the prize!
• The ‘Zion Train’ captured the spirit award in the Campbell Cup
• The Bay wins cabin clean-up BOTH weeks! Way to go!
• Our theatre department debuted the musical ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ filled with great songs, creative costumes and a fantastic set.
• Happy Birthday to Liam Kerr, Matt Dempsey, Callum MacDonald, Thomas Whittaker, Carolyn Wilson, Sam Buckley, James Andrew and Kate Wilson!

First Session Memories 2010

First session 2010 was filled with great weather, amazing programs and wonderful campers.  Here are some highlights of the session.

• A "Monster Mash" dance
• Eating the witches brew from the cauldron
• The hottest week in camp history
• Eating dinner in the woods
• A raccoon visits Sierra and Fantasia on their campout
• Frankenstein is the victorious monster      
• The camp welcomes the world record tuna
• The tuna is stolen by Katharine Cooke
• Spain wins the world cup and our Spanish campers celebrate!
• Building birdhouses with Dave and Alex
• LIT’s enjoy a hike through Algonquin Park
• Fantasia and the Den win cabin clean-up!
• Day Camp barbeques end the week with great food
• Happy Birthday to Heidi Kopp and Michael Sucharda

What a great way to end off the month of July.  Second session has come and gone and we are left with some wonderful memories.  Here are a few of the amazing things that happened at camp during our second session.

• Meeting new friends from around the world
• Celebrities visit for Arrowhead Idol
• Welcome to all of our new day campers
• The LIT’s canoe through Algonquin Park
• The new outdoor ping pong table
• Sierra dominates the cabin clean-up, winning the cake both times

Third Session Memories 2010

• Arrowhead Camp travels through time to bring back the best leaders
• King Arthur is determined to be the greatest warrior
• Arrowhead Theatre puts our favourite plays “Back on Broadway”
• Our fabulous hosts Adam Varao and Josh Whibbs lead us through the musicals
• KISS visits Arrowhead but gets their record stolen, thanks to team Rocket Ride for getting it back safely!
• Much Music Video Awards take place at camp and  the Cave and Fantasia win  for best new record
• Two awesome canoe trips go through Algonquin Park
• Team Scott wins the Campbell Cup!
• ??? is the Gotcha champion!
• Gotham City comes to Arrowhead and Alfred the butler kidnaps Robin

 Fourth Session Memories 2010

• Mystery Monday brings a convention of the most famous detectives to celebrate the capture of the world’s most wanted criminals
• Mystique the famous rock star gets kidnapped
• Rob Hinchley puts on a nature art workshop creating a mural for the camp
• Rest Hour slip n’ slide competition cools everyone off
• LIT’s tackle Algonquin Park on a two night canoe trip
• World Champion ping-pong player visits camp for the fair
• Laura Turcotte plays camp maid and cleans the cabin for the fort
• Oasis takes the cake winning cabin clean-up!
• Tye-dye Tennis Ball takes over the tennis court Friday night
